Active in education & research
Our company values and has a continuous presence in education sector. We have been lecturing Applied Acoustics for over three decades at various academic and technological institutions.
Research studies/reports have been presented & published at national and international Acoustics conferences.
Our founder is an “Eteros” member of the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics (HEL.IN.A) with an active participation in the field of acoustics.
Acoustics Research at the Epidavros Open Ancient Theater
Acou, in collaboration with H,E,A,R, embarked on a self financed project to conducted research and examine the acoustics of an ancient -but still operating- open air theater in Greece.
The research was presented at the first international conference “The Acoustics of Ancient Theaters” in collaboration with professor J. Mourjopoulos from the University of Patras.
This was the first and only time worldwide, that acoustic measurements took place during a live performance with a live audience present at an ancient open theater. - for the theatrical play “Medea” (2011)

“Measurements and Analysis of the Epidavros Ancient Theater Acoustics”
Results for acoustic and meteorological measurements at the ancient open theater of Epidavros (2011)
The analysis of the results, illustrated aspects of the theater's acoustical properties, indicating the pattern and mechanism for early reflections, the spectral response of the theatre, aspects of time-frequency response interaction and aspects of the spatial impression.
The results verified predictions of earlier acoustic models for this theater. Measurements with the theater partially full with an audience showed no change with respect to speech intelligibility.
The results restated the renowned exceptional acoustic characteristics of the theater for speech, for all listener positions throughout the theater.
Commitment in Education
Our founder is a senior guest Lecturer of Applied Acoustics at S.A.E. Athens technological institute (affiliated with Middlesex University of London) for over 30 years.
We have been conducting on site measurement techniques at open air sites as part of our teaching methods of Applied Acoustics.

The 1st «Acoustics of Ancient Theaters» International conference, was jointlyorganized by the European Acoustics Association, the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics and the University of Patras in the city of Patras (September 18-21,2011).

The 6th «ACOUSTICS 2012» National conference, was organized by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts and the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University at the island of Corfu (October 8- 10 2012).
