Building Acoustics

Sound Insulation solutions for all spaces

Both exterior & interior spaces are evaluated for impact and equipment (MEP, HVAC, ect) noises are transmitted through the air or through the static body of the building.

To assess a buildings acoustic needs, airborne and impact sound transmission are evaluated. Depending on the functionality of the building, different acoustic requirements will apply.

We are able to advise & provide you with detailed acoustic studies, during construction or post construction.

We provide sound insulation solutions for:

  • Residential buildings & complexes

  • Industrial complexes

  • Commercial buildings & shopping malls

  • Hotels

  • Hospitals

  • And more

BASTIAN software - Interior Acoustics & Planning

Calculating airborne and impact sound transmission

BASTIAN 3.PNG

BASTIAN is a software that allows us to calculate both airborne & impact sound transmission between rooms and/or buildings.

It can be used to predict the acoustical performance between rooms in apartment and office buildings, between classrooms in schools, and between rooms in hotels or hospitals.

The calculations in BASTIAN are based on parts 1 to 3 of the European Standard series EN 12354. Which have been adopted by the majority of the European countries as part of their national standards.

INSUL software - Sound Insulation Prediction

Predicting sound insulation

Insul 3.PNG

INSUL is a program for predicting the sound insulation of walls, floors, roofs, ceilings and windows according to impact noise and rain on floors and roofs.

We use this software to quickly evaluate new materials and acoustic systems or to investigate the effects of changes/updates to existing designs.

The program can make exceptional estimations of the Transmission Loss (TL) in 1/3 octave bands and Weighted Sound Reduction Index (STC or Rw) for use in noise transfer calculations.

Key elements in Building Acoustics

CALME 2.PNG

The acoustics of a building are affected by:

  • The geometry and the volume of a space

  • The materials of the surfaces which envelop a space

  • The materials in between spaces

Our sound insulation solutions regulate:

  • The amount of sound generated within an interior or exterior space

  • Airborne sound transmission

  • Impact noise
